Shanghai, May 28, 2026 — OYMotion, a leading enterprise specializing in non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) and bionic robotics, has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with MicroPort NeuroScientific, a frontrunner in neuro-interventional medical devices. The two parties will jointly drive the medical application and industrialization of integrated BCI and exoskeleton robot technologies.
A joint R&D team will be established to focus on the full-cycle development of an interventional BCI rehabilitation system. The partners aim to create a pioneering closed-loop rehabilitation solution featuring intravascular EEG acquisition, AI signal decoding, exoskeleton actuation, neural feedback and brain function remodeling.
Core Cooperation Content
1. Joint Development of Interventional BCI Hardware
MicroPort NeuroScientific will design intravascular stent electrode systems, develop neuro-interventional delivery devices and build intracranial EEG acquisition modules. Leveraging its decades of expertise in neuro-intervention, the team will realize minimally invasive implantation without craniotomy, enabling long-term and stable intracranial signal collection.
OYMotion will deliver high-precision neural signal conditioning technologies and multi-channel AI decoding algorithms, which convert real-time intracranial EEG signals into motion intention commands, addressing the drawbacks of weak signals, high latency and low accuracy of traditional non-invasive BCI solutions.
2. Integrated Control System for Exoskeleton Robots
OYMotion will provide lightweight, high-degree-of-freedom exoskeleton robots including upper/lower limb rehabilitation exoskeletons and dexterous bionic hands, as well as low-latency servo control and force feedback systems. The whole system achieves millisecond-level response and precise motion execution following BCI instructions.
Both sides will jointly optimize the neural-mechanical interface, and tackle key technical challenges such as signal transmission stability, multi-modal data fusion (EEG, electromyography and inertial sensing) and human-machine interaction comfort.
3. Clinical Verification and Standardization of Rehabilitation Protocols
Targeting patients with motor dysfunction caused by stroke, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury, the two parties will conduct multi-center clinical trials to verify the safety and efficacy of the system. They will also formulate standardized clinical pathways and evaluation criteria for interventional BCI-based rehabilitation, and promote scalable intelligent rehabilitation treatment plans.
4. Commercialization and Industrial Ecosystem Building
MicroPort NeuroScientific will take charge of medical device registration, clinical access, hospital channel expansion and medical insurance coordination. OYMotion will be responsible for market promotion targeting rehabilitation centers, elderly care institutions and household users.
The two companies will also explore extended applications of BCI in human-machine interaction, functional compensation and neuromodulation, to build an innovative industrial ecosystem integrating brain science, robotics and medical services.
Significance of the Cooperation
There are over 15 million stroke patients in China, and most of them suffer from limb motor dysfunction. Conventional rehabilitation methods feature long treatment cycles and limited outcomes, with low patient engagement. Combining the high safety and precision of interventional BCI with the powerful execution capability and excellent adaptability of OYMotion’s intelligent exoskeletons, this collaboration delivers a revolutionary rehabilitation model that shifts from passive training to active mind-controlled movement, helping patients restore motor functions and self-care abilities.
This powerful alliance breaks down technical barriers across neuro-interventional medical devices, BCI algorithms and bionic robotics, forming a comprehensive full-stack technological closed loop for neuro-rehabilitation. It will accelerate China’s leap from follower to leader in the fields of brain science and intelligent rehabilitation.
